And just plain told certain people didn't like our company

Some lady didn't like the way we danced so she bought the building and doubled the rent and the club that she couldn't buy burned down to the floor
Well I ain't gotta worry because lady when you die I won't be sad no more

Some people got together and built a place they could call their own
And folks came running from miles around saying you're doing it all wrong
Making up the rules as they went along
